Liberian activist Kimmie Weeks has joined several world innovators in the American City of Chicago as a featured participant at Northwestern University's KIN Global Summit.
The conference theme this year "Building Global Prosperity: Innovation and Action" and ran from June 1 - 3, 2009.
A group of 175 "invitation-only" delegates with outstanding credentials in innovation in many fields from around the world convened to build a path toward global prosperity.
"KIN Global is part of a larger vision for a leading business school to provide an independent platform for people to collaborate and address humanity's most meaningful challenges," said Dr. Robert C. Wolcott, co-founder and executive director.
"As a global business school, business remains at the core of the Kellogg School of Management. Nonetheless, many challenges facing the world today require cross-sector solutions and an innovative capacity beyond the reach of individual organizations. At Kellogg, we are providing an environment in which meaningful collaboration can occur," Wolcott said.
Kimmie Weeks says he hopes his involvement will spark additional global interest in Africa and especially in the Liberian building process. Weeks is currently traveling through Europe, The Middle East, Africa and North America, raising awareness and support for post war African nations.
In a recent address to African diplomats in the Middle Eastern nation of Oman, Kimmie Weeks challenged Africans to "be prepared to die" for their countries. He also called for greater cohesiveness to make Africa the best place to live.
